Schoolyard Strutzbierg, Dudelange

Construction time: 2023 – 2024
Site: Dudelange, Luxembourg
Surface: 3 680 m²
Client: Municipality of Dudelange
Architect: Christian Bauer & Associés Architectes

The open spaces around the Dudelange primary school are characterised by differences in height within the topography of up to 7m. The main connecting element between the upper and lower schoolyard terraces is a staircase and ramp system. It provides access to the paved upper schoolyard and the near-natural schoolyard terraces at different levels. They offer opportunities to move, climb, swing and slide. To adapt to climate change, there is a separate area with a collection basin for rainwater retention.
